Teach the Next Generation of Trauma Professionals
ITLS instructors shape how trauma care is delivered in their communities. If you have the clinical credibility and the drive to teach, we want you on the faculty.
Prerequisites
- Current ITLS Provider certification at the level you intend to teach (Advanced Provider for most candidates)
- Current licensure or certification as a paramedic, nurse, physician, physician assistant, military medical technician, or equivalent
- Recent, relevant clinical or operational experience in trauma care
- Recommendation from an ITLS Course Coordinator or Chapter representative
The pathway
- Complete an ITLS Provider course and perform at instructor potential.
- Attend the ITLS Instructor Course — adult education principles, skills-station coaching, evaluation, and course logistics.
- Complete a monitored teaching assignment under an experienced Course Coordinator.
- Receive instructor certification from ITLS International through the Chapter.
- Maintain your certification by teaching regularly and completing Instructor Updates.
