Teach ITLS Under the Northern Lights Charter
ITLS Northern Lights works with affiliate facilitators and course coordinators across Canada who deliver ITLS courses under our charter. If you are a certified ITLS instructor, or an organization that wants to run courses in your region, this is where you start.
Who can facilitate
- Current ITLS Instructors in good standing with their home chapter or training centre
- Instructors transferring or adding a Canadian chapter affiliation
- Organizations with a qualified Course Coordinator and access to a Course Medical Director
How access works
ITLS course materials — instructional slides, coordinator and instructor guides, skill station guides, written examinations and answer keys — are copyrighted by ITLS International and are distributed through approved chapter coordinators only. Examinations and re-tests are restricted to course coordinators for exam security.
For that reason we do not host course materials on this website. Approved facilitators receive materials directly from the Chapter Coordinator once credentialing is complete.
The approval process
- Submit a request for access using the details below.
- Provide your credentials — current ITLS instructor number, certification level, home chapter, and a letter of good standing if transferring from another chapter.
- Credential review by the Chapter Coordinator and Medical Director.
- Monitored teaching — new and incoming instructors may be monitored on a live course before teaching independently.
- Materials access and course authorization — approved facilitators receive materials, roster templates and course scheduling support.
What we expect of facilitators
- Adherence to the ITLS curriculum without modification
- Exam security — examinations are never copied, shared or posted
- Instructor-to-student ratios that preserve hands-on time (4:1 target at skill stations)
- Roster and documentation submission on schedule
- Course records retained for a minimum of three years
- Professional conduct consistent with the Chapter's non-discrimination and harassment policy
